To hold data center companies accountable for their water use and to inform the public about how water is used in data centers and the environmental impact these facilities can have on local communities.

• A single data center uses, on average, the same amount of water as 50,000 residents use in a single day — approximately 5 million gallons.
• Every 20–50 interactions with an AI chatbot can consume roughly the equivalent of one bottle of water.
• Water leaving data centers is, on average, 40°F warmer than when it entered.
